Best tips for a healthy diet in seconds

• Why do our bodies need fruit and vegetables?
You can consider fruit as a medicine for your body and as preventive way to avoid going to the doctors. Some people say that if you eat one green apple every day, you will never need to visit a doctor. This is because fruits and especially apples are anti- oxidants which help to protect the body from stress, diseases and cancer. They also strengthen the immune system which is what all people want - to have a healthy life. Fruits and vegetables contain fibre which assists the body to lower the level of cholesterol and fat.
Be careful when peeling fruits!
Some fruit peels contain most of the anti-oxidant concentration for example grapes and higher level of vitamin C in citrus fruit. In general peels have the most benefit out of fruits.

 Feel tired? Need more energy?
Don’t ever think that nuts are bad for your health. They are a must for your body. Along with being rich in energy, they help to reduce LDL which is known as “bad cholesterol” and increase HDL which is known as “good cholesterol”, a major concern for most people in these days. They provide protection against cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease and blood pressure.

How much fat should we eat?
Although the body needs fat and oil, it should not exceed 30% of our total calories. More fat will increase the cholesterol level and lead to many other diseases.

• How many meals should we eat per day?
The answer seems to be easy but it is not, as different researchers have different recommendations. One of the recent researchers suggests that people should eat 5-6 small meals a day with the larger meals in the morning and the smallest at night. This way, the body will burn more calories.

And for the last piece of advice, eat all kinds of food but make sure it is a well balanced diet.
